A fall from height is one of the most common causes of serious injury on WA worksites. RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights builds the skills to identify fall hazards, select and fit the right fall protection and PPE, and access, work in and clean up a height work area safely. You’ll learn to inspect equipment, install and check safety systems, and monitor and adjust controls as the work continues.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries. It applies to those working in operational roles who generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures, and who take responsibility for the quality of their work outcomes.
Assessment is competency-based and combines theory with practical demonstration.
