Vehicle loading cranes with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more are used to load and unload vehicles on site, and operating one is licensed high-risk work. TLILIC0024 Licence to Operate a Vehicle Loading Crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above) builds the skills to plan the lift, set up and stabilise the crane, perform lifts safely within its rated capacity, and pack up on completion. It is your training step towards the CV High Risk Work Licence.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge to safely operate a vehicle loading crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more, in accordance with all relevant legislative responsibilities. A vehicle loading crane is a crane mounted on a vehicle for loading and unloading the vehicle.
Assessment is competency-based and combines theory with practical demonstration, using the national assessment instrument mandated for the licence.

On successful completion you receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0024 Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above). Competence in this unit does not by itself grant the licence; you then apply to WorkSafe WA for the CV High Risk Work Licence separately.
You must operate a vehicle loading crane configured to its rated capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more to lift and move four different loads through an obstacle course, with the load in full view. Loads must include a load of more than 50% of the crane’s rated capacity with a boom length of more than 75%, a round load at least three metres long and 200kg, an asymmetrical load, and a stillage or cage of loose items weighing at least 200kg.
