RGRSS00044 Harness Trackwork Driver Skill Set provides the skills and knowledge required to drive trackwork in the harness racing code. It meets industry requirements for trackwork drivers, subject to the requirements of the relevant Principal Racing Authority, and provides credit towards RGR30218 Certificate III in Racing (Stablehand), RGR30318 Certificate III in Racing (Driving Stablehand) and RGR40318 Certificate IV in Racing (Harness Race Driver).
This skill set provides the skills and knowledge required to drive trackwork in the harness racing code.
It is designed for those undertaking the duties of a trackwork driver, covering health and safety, racing industry ethics and integrity, assessing racehorse fitness and suitability to race, and developing driving skills through jog work, trackwork and fast work.
Some units carry prerequisite requirements building through basic driving tasks, jog work and trackwork driving skills; see training.gov.au for the full prerequisite chain.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements apply to this skill set and vary in each state and territory. Check with the relevant Principal Racing Authority for current requirements.
Units completed within this skill set provide credit towards RGR30218 Certificate III in Racing (Stablehand), RGR30318 Certificate III in Racing (Driving Stablehand) and RGR40318 Certificate IV in Racing (Harness Race Driver).
